I am Chef Matthew Earl!


As a professional chef I wanted to share my love for food and the culture that surrounds it. Obviously, I do remain partial to Nordic as well as some older styles of cooking. Nonetheless, I really love to explore new areas of the cooking world. I am here to share the knowledge that I have gained over the years. Interestingly, I have worked in restaurants that thrived on flavors from all over the world like South East Asian, Indian, Jamaican, and Middle Eastern.

There is so much history and background to everything in our lives that we take for granted or overlook. I would very much like for this blog to become a place of discovery and hopefully make this site a public access place for community communication. Above all, I want this space to be safe for anyone to use. Therefore all people who want to learn and share their culture and recipes are welcome here!
