It’s nice and sunny out there and what better way to celebrate than with a blackberry key lime margarita? This super refreshing drink is sure to have you coming back for more. Especially to any margarita lovers out there.
Now this one is a little different in that there is no cointreau in it. But don’t fret over things like that. Just try it out and i’m sure you will become a believer.
The mixed light tartness of both the blackberries and key limes, as well as the subtle sweetness of a key lime play well together. Add in your favorite blanco tequila, some sugar, and a salted rim if that’s your thing to round out a well balanced cocktail.
A blackberry key lime margarita is a great party maker. As margaritas are one of the easiest high quality cocktails to master at home, they make for great party drinks as well. Make just one, or make a whole pitcher to share with friends. This delicious drink is sure to be loved by all!
Simplicity of the key lime margarita
As are most margaritas, this blackberry key lime margarita uses only 4 ingredients! How much easier could it get? And the less ingredients, as far as I believe, the more time you have to enjoy them. Responsibly of course.
Now the key to a great margarita is great ingredients. So don’t cheap out on your tequila as it is a big part of this. Make sure to get 100% agave when shopping around. Silver or blanco tequila is what you will be looking for. It doesn’t have to be crazy expensive, I’m not here trying to tell you to go break the bank over a bottle of tequila. But it shouldn’t be bottom shelf is all i’m trying to say. For example, mine was made with Lunazul. It is a solid entry level tequila with a very fair price.
And as for key limes
I know that not everyone has access to key limes at their local grocery store. But a great compromise is to use Nellie and Joe’s Key West Lime Juice. This stuff is the perfect replacement for key lime juice as there is no juicing to be done and the flavor is fantastic! I have a few key lime recipes that this product is perfect for.
Simple syrup is a perfect helper for all of this to help balance it all out. Tequila is naturally a sugar as it comes from the agave plant. I assume you have heard of agave syrup before. Maybe seen it at your local coffee shop. Well because of that, tequila deserves to have some sweetness brought back to it. You can also use agave syrup in this recipe if you have access to it. I know that it is becoming more accessible but recognize that not everyone can get their hands on it or are just really in a rush for a margarita.
